Initial Control Profiles
This node only appears when Control Profiles is enabled in the main Optimization node. It contains the initial values of a control profile function in each period. Normally, it is not necessary to fill these values. More information on this node is explained below. Grid Views Actions Grid Views Initialization Values Initialization Values Generally, you do not have to enter any values in this node. Here, all the variables that are selected as Optimize are listed in columns. The initial values for their control profile function in each period at a few selected points are displayed. This control profile function is an auxiliary internal function that is generated based on the user choice for the control profile(such as linear, quadratic, etc) If the variable profile was defined as constant in a given period, only one initialization value is shown. Likewise, there are two values for linear, and three values for a quadratic profile. The values can be manually entered, however that is seldom the case. When the Initialize from Results action is executed, these values are automatically updated with the values from the last solution, which are stored in the Results → Optimized Control Profiles node. This allows to speed up future optimization runs by providing a warm start to the optimization algorithm.
